Saturday Snapshot - Day out to Dover Castle

I am joining Alyce at Home with Books for this week's Saturday Snapshot

Following last week's collage of our day out at Leeds Castle , this week's collage is our day out at Dover Castle, Kent.

Situated right on the White Cliffs of Dover, Dover Castle and the surrounding grounds have amazing views over Dover, the busy Ferry Port with regular ferries to France (3rd photo - bottom row)  and the White Cliffs.

It was a very packed day with lots to see and do.  AJ made a shield in the Arts n Crafts tent. You can see him dressed as a knight in the pic (to the right). It was Halloween and he was disappointed when he saw many children dressed for Halloween. We dashed into the Castle shop and found something to dress up.

The site includes the magnificent medieval castle (main photo), Anglo-Saxon church (3rd photo -top row) and a Roman Lighthouse (1st photo - bottom row).
The Secret Wartime Tunnels and Underground hospital are accessible via guided tours.

There are lots of steep gradients to climb on this day out.

You can find out more about Dover Castle here
