Be careful what you say!

Recycled pic from last year's trip!
The London Aquarium is the building to the right of C and AJ
A couple of weeks ago we went on our annual family day out to London.
We had gone on this outing to London for the last 3 years.

It was not the best of days this year. (bear with me there is a funny to this story). As you can see, last year we had a glorious day and the rest of the family went on the London Eye for C's 16th birthday.

It was a miserable day, but being used to wet days in the UK we still went ahead with our day.  Our train was cancelled so we went on a round about trip and went into London via Liverpool St rather than Kings Cross.

Then, we queued for over an hour and half to get into the London Aquairium in the rain.  Mad, I hear you say, well  we had vouchers so needed to use them. BUT, you queue anywhere for attractions in London. Last year was about the same queue time for London Eye.

The one great part of the day was finding a little Italian restaurant in the street behind the Aquarium.  We had a delicious lunch.  I cannot remember the name of it or find it online.

Our day is always tiring in London as we walk miles and this year as AJ was 4 it was more tiring for him.  On previous trips he had slept in the buggy.

We then had a long journey home, taxi to station, and 2 trains to get home.  We missed our connecting train and had almost an hour wait at one station................

Here is the funny part.......

for several days leading up to the trip we had been singing a tune from an ad on TV...

"we're going to London, to buy a Heat Magazine....."
a mum puts her kids in the car to drive to London as she cannot get her favourite magazine

After a tiring and not so fun day, whilst waiting for almost an hour at the station for connecting train AJ started to cry.  We thought he was tired and overwhelmed by the day....

NO, he wanted his magazine. He sobbed, " I didn't get the magazine."

How long had the poor child been wondering when we would get the Heat Magazine!!!

Bless him, we went to the shop and bought him a comic. :)
